MANEZINHOS:
Manezinho is the term popularly used to designate the natives of Florianopolis. They are called so because of its historical ancestry of the mid-century, populations of the Azores islands belonging to Portugal. The inhabitants of these islands are also called "Manezinhos da Ilh''. Most of the descendants have a fishing culture as well as the whaling hunt culture . This practice is now illegal, and was widely practiced in Florianopolis before the ban.

Portuguese is the official language of the Federative Republic of Brazil. English and Spanish are spoken by most people involved in tourist activities.
RELIGION
Brazil is a religiously diverse country, with a tendency for tolerance and mobility between religions. The Brazilian population is predominantly Christian (89%), and mostly Catholic. Inheritance of colonization, Catholicism was the official state religion until the Republican Constitution of 1891, which established the secular state.
SANITARY LEVEL
It is not obligatory nor necessary to apply any vaccine before going to Florianopolis, since it is a safe city in terms of health. Public hospitals
are available to tourists for any emergency 24 hours a day for free.
SECURITY
Florianópolis is a safe city, but as in any city in the world, we must take
some care. For example, do not leave your purse or bag hanging from chairs in public places or walk at night along poorly lit areas.
